Unprocessed Wool. Unforgettable Learning. Straight from the Sheep.

Give your students the rare opportunity to experience wool exactly as it comes off the sheep: earthy, textured, and rich with lanolin. The Pemberley Wool Packet contains a generous sample of raw, unwashed fleece straight from Mr. Darcy and his friends at Pemberley Farm. This is the real thing. Nothing added, nothing removed.

What’s Inside:

  • A generous sample of raw fleece – unwashed and lanolin-rich, with natural texture and scent
  • A handwritten “Meet the Sheep” postcard featuring one of our real sheep

  • A charming Mr. Darcy the Sheep sticker to mark the moment or decorate your classroom

With the Pemberley Wool Packet you can teach the Beast to Blanket curriculum in a way your students will remember for a lifetime.

You’ll be able to offer your kids something real, not sanitized. This isn’t a craft store sample. It’s the raw fleece your family would handle if you were standing in the shearing barn yourself. It’s sticky with lanolin, smells like the farm, and connects your lesson to the real rhythms of rural life.

What Others Have to Say

Kiersten’s class turned my never-picked-up-needles 10-year-old son into someone who spends his spending money on yarn! 🙂 This is not just a basic course, but so immersive, and informative. I love how many different facets of the whole process are included, and because of that, it pulls in more students than just a “how to knit” class might. We loved it. It was amazing watching my son turn into a knitter!

Liesel E.

My 10 year old son took the Beast to Blanket class last year and enjoyed it so much! Making his own tools and yarn were some of his favorite parts of the class, as well as learning to make a Viking Braid. The final skill in the class was learning to knit, and he really struggled with some aspects of it, so I watched the videos and learned to knit alongside him. I have never knitted before! The videos were so helpful, and easy. Learning alongside my son turned into a wonderful bonding experience for us both, and we still enjoy knitting together.

Laura

I took Kiersten’s Beast to Blanket class years ago, and I still knit to this day. It was so easy and fun to learn from her. She made me feel very comfortable even when I struggled because she spent one on one time with me and showed me exactly what I needed to know. I got to spin and dye wool that turned into the most beautiful projects! Kiersten makes knitting fun and relaxing while still paying attention to each student’s needs. I would highly recommend working with her!

Kiersten’s Beast to Blanket class is a one-of-a-kind experience!  Her knowledge of and love for of the materials and processes is unmatched.  Students learn to appreciate the animal from which the wool is shorn while they practice the skill of turning raw wool into beautifully dyed yarn. Ultimately, they learn the basics of creating something useful and beautiful with their yarn! Beast to Blanket is a rich experience that leaves students with valuable knowledge and tools they can enjoy for life.

Kendi F. – Education Professional (Private and Homeschool)

I’ve had the privilege of helping in some of Kiersten’s classes, and there is no one more kind and creative. She has a unique ability to teach all levels, no matter the person’s learning style, making everything very easy to understand and fun. Kiersten is extremely knowledgeable about all things knitting, from cleaning and spinning wool straight from the sheep and dying the beautiful yarn, to creating the most gorgeous and intricate knitting projects. Her ability to create new knitting patterns and problem solve is unmatched. If it has anything to do with knitting, she is the person to ask.

My kids took a wonderful class that Kiersten taught, which gave them a love of knitting that continues today. They were able to experience every step “from beast to blanket,” from spinning wool to producing a blanket. She has a sincere heart to help others learn and grow. I highly recommend her classes and consultations. She is a miracle worker!

What if I simply can’t afford the beast to blanket Curriculum?

Believe us when we say we understand.

Beast to Blanket is our business. But I (Kiersten) first created it as a home school mom, when resources were scarce, and the cost of quality arts curricula and supplies was prohibitive. I get it. Sometimes we can acknowledge something might be great for us, but it’s just not in the budget. I don’t want that to be the case for anyone with the Beast to Blanket Curriculum.

We all know art is beneficial for us. Science is showing us repeatedly how Fiber Arts has real therapeutic mental and physical health benefits. We do good, kind work when we help others learn and develop artistic skills and appreciation. I want to help however I can.

One way is by carefully creating this curriculum guide. The other is by offering a limited number of reduced cost copies through Mr. Darcy’s Scholarship Program.

So please don’t let concerns about costs prevent you from making plans to jump into Beast to Blanket with your students. I want this to be available to the educator who was in my shoes two decades ago. If you would like to inquire about Mr. Darcy’s Scholarship Program before making your purchase, please send an email with the word “Scholarship.” to info @beasttoblanket.com
