Happy Birthday, American Friends!

Warmest greetings from Pemberley! I do hope this letter finds you and yours safe, happy, and well.

Kiersten J has given me leave to write the regular posting this week so that I might wish my American friends a happy Independence Day. I don’t quite comprehend the desire to be free of the glorious British Empire, but I do understand it was considered important at the time.

I also understand the anniversary of its accomplishment must be celebrated with a prodigious number of explosions. I do believe the sky may come down around our heads. I only wish the celebrations included an equally prodigious number of corn treats.

My fellow Pemberley friends and neighbors send their best wishes as well. We hope those of you who are celebrating are enjoying time with those you love.

We’ve just had a recent shearing and are a wee bit camera shy.

Kiersten sent a picture of her beloved Kansas “showing off” its summer splendor.

She also sent news that she will be sending an extra email later this week about the Beast to Blanket curriculum. She mentioned a special offer for newsletter subscribers, so look for that to arrive in the next few days.

I’m quite prominent in the images and graphics, and I’m lobbying for co-author status. We’ll see if I manage it.

My fondest regards, and very best hopes that your Independence Day celebrations include something you adore as much as I do corn,

Mr. Darcy the Sheep
